Sunday, 9 August 2015, Muscat - The National Automotive Higher Institute (NAHI) opens its doors today (Sunday, August 9) for registration in its various programmes for Omani school graduates until 30th of August, 2015. Being the first institute of its kind in the Sultanate, NAHI aims to supply the automotive sector in Oman with skilled and qualified national technicians. The first semester will commence its foundation programme in September 2015.
NAHI offers Diploma and Advanced Diploma Certificates and provides state of the art educational and training programs that are in line with latest international technologies in the field of automotive. The programmes offer theoretical and practical technical education as well as interpersonal skills required for developing the workforce in the automotive field. Furthermore, the institute will award Diploma Programmes and other educational programmes in the form of training courses.
The Diploma programmes at NAHI consist of engineering studies (Light Vehicle Service & Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance, Vehicle Body Repair and Vehicle Painting) as well as business studies (Sales and Marketing, Spare Parts Management, and Customer Services). The programmes offered by the institute are certified and based on high quality international education standards.

We aim to see this institute bring an added value to the vital automotive specializations in which Omanis can excel and master if they get adequate and effective training," adds Al Balushi.
NAHI will admit 390 students by September 2015 to start their educational journey with a foundation programme. NAHI is affiliated with the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) to conduct Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes, competency based training, and various short courses. Furthermore, NAHI is also affiliated academically with the German University of Technology (GUtech). These affiliations aim to produce internationally recognized and skilled national automotive technicians.
As part of its promotional efforts, NAHI has participated recently along with a number of higher education institutions in the Higher Education Exhibition 2015 held at Oman International Exhibition Centre. This was the first public participation for NAHI to introduce its programmes as well as the qualification and training opportunities.
"This is our first public participation since the official opening of the institute last month. We aim to introduce the institute as well as its programmes, activities and available opportunities to the public and to answer their inquiries," explains the Al Balushi.
