A noted academic, Joel earned his bachelor’s degree in Science in Industrial Education (BSIE) major in automotive from Cagayan State University, Tuguegarao, Master of Technician Education (MTE) major in Automotive Technology from Marikina Institute of Science and Technology while earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) major in Educational Management from Marikina Polytechnic College. Joel rose from the rank from Automotive Instructor to the Dean College of Technology at Marikina Polytechnic College before joining the faculty of the National College of Automotive Technology 2018.
During his time at Marikina Polytechnic College, Joel added college-wide advantages when elected the as Dean College of Technology from 2016 to 2018, Head, Automotive and HVAC/R Department in 2012-16, and in 2009-2012 when he was appointed as Automotive Instructor. In those former roles, he exerted efforts on curricula development and delivery, train the instructors, maintained the automotive workshops, tools, equipment, machinery, and vehicles of the college. He started his academic career in 1998 from private and public sector local and international educational institutions.
He was also worked at The Otomotif College (TOC) in Selangor Malaysia as Lead Instructor from 2005-2009 in which one of the known College in Malaysia in the field of automotive.
He developed curriculum, conducted training delivery, monitored instructors and students’ performances, trained instructors upgrading, maintained equipment and others.
Joel has vast experience in the educational sector. He was an internal and external Accreditor for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) thru Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines AACCUP. An Assessor, Coach, Experts in the field of automotive technology through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). He had effective memberships in Associations at the same field and attended other presentations, conferences, seminar and training sessions.
